Donation will support Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester’s ReStore locations and housing mission
Yankee Home is proud to announce a donation of more than $100,000 in home improvement materials to Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester, helping provide high-quality building products to local families while supporting affordable housing initiatives throughout the MetroWest and Greater Worcester communities.
The donation, made on July 31, 2026, includes replacement windows, exterior doors, bath products, and other home improvement materials. These products will be available through Habitat for Humanity’s Worcester and Ashland ReStore locations, where donated building materials, furniture, and household goods are sold to the public at discounted prices. Revenue generated through ReStore sales directly supports Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build and preserve affordable homes for families in need.
Giving Quality Home Improvement Products a Second Life
Yankee Home acquired the excess inventory after another home improvement company closed. Rather than allowing usable materials to go to waste, the company chose to donate the products so they could benefit local homeowners, ReStore shoppers, and Habitat for Humanity’s affordable home programs serving families and veterans throughout the MetroWest and Greater Worcester region.
“This donation is a reflection of who we are as a company,” said Yankee Home Founder Ger Ronan.
“At Yankee Home, one of our core values is putting people first. We believe success is not only measured by the homes we renovate, but also by the impact we have on the communities we serve. When we have an opportunity to help families, support organizations like Habitat for Humanity, and make a meaningful difference, that is something we will always prioritize.”

Supporting Affordable Housing and Sustainability
The partnership reflects the shared commitment of Yankee Home and Habitat for Humanity to helping people create safe, comfortable places to call home. In addition to supporting affordable housing efforts, the donation aligns with Yankee Home’s commitment to sustainable home improvement by keeping high-quality, usable building materials out of the waste stream.
“We are so grateful to Yankee Home for turning these materials into an opportunity to support local families,” said Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester CEO Debbie Maruca Hoak. “This donation will help neighbors find affordable home improvement items at our ReStore while supporting Habitat’s work to build and preserve safe, welcoming homes in our community.”
Helping Homeowners Throughout the Community
Yankee Home hopes the donated materials help families create homes that are safer, more accessible, and comfortable throughout the year. As housing costs and home values continue to rise, improvements such as replacement windows, doors, and bath products can also improve long-term durability while adding lasting value to homes.
“Strong communities are built when local businesses and nonprofit organizations work together, and we hope this donation encourages others to look for ways they can use their resources to help,“ Ronan said.
