Chicopee homeowner Carolyn Martinez named winner of Yankee Home’s 2025 $15,000 Home Makeover Giveaway
Yankee Home proudly announced Carolyn Martinez of Chicopee, Massachusetts, as the winner of its annual $15,000 Home Makeover Giveaway, awarding the 2025 giveaway during a front door surprise on March 17, 2026.
The surprise took place on St. Patrick’s Day 2026, an unexpected but fitting moment given Yankee Home’s Irish roots and the spirit of both generosity and good fortune the day represents.
The annual Yankee Home Makeover Giveaway receives hundreds of entries from homeowners across New England and New York. This year’s response highlighted the continued growth and impact of the program, as well as the need for accessible, high-quality home improvement solutions.
From these entries, Martinez was randomly selected as the 2025 $15,000 Home Makeover Giveaway winner through a yearly drawing.
Martinez, a single mother of three, used the $15,000 toward much-needed home improvements. When asked what she plans to do first, she shared that her Chicopee home is ready for long-overdue updates.

Martinez’s story is deeply connected to the mission she now leads.
“I am a single mom of three girls, and I run a nonprofit. I support homeless women and children in our community. When you work for a nonprofit, you don’t do it for the money,” Martinez shared. “I actually graduated from the program as well, and they helped me buy my house.”

Christina’s House, based in Hampden County and Greater Springfield, provides transitional housing and comprehensive support for women and children experiencing homelessness. Since its founding in 2012, the organization has helped families move from crisis to stability through a holistic approach that includes education, employment support, and long-term guidance.
